A musical sanctuary

Stonesong is a living soundscape you keep open in a browser tab. Its first room, Castle Hearth, is a firelit chamber where hammered dulcimer drifts over the crackle of burning oak and rain against the shutters. Just press play and stay a while.

Who’s building this?

I’m Devin Mooers — a composer and multi-instrumentalist living in a log cabin in midcoast Maine.

I play fifteen instruments — hammered dulcimer, Celtic harp, cello, violin, cittern, Irish flute, bodhrán, and hand percussion among them — and I record them by hand.

I also sing (sometimes in made-up languages) and layer harmonies.

My inspiration

Since I first read The Lord of the Rings, I’ve been chasing a feeling: that special magic of a beautifully imagined fantasy world — Rivendell at dusk, a warm tavern with a cozy hearth and good food, a quiet sun-dappled forest.

Stonesong is that feeling, built into a place you can visit whenever you need it.
